Kisumu in Nairobi to chase Kenya Cup promotion
By Raga House | Fri 10 May, 2019 08:58

Kisumu is in Nairobi! From the shores Victoria comes the Brave hearts. Saturday 11th is no ordinary day in Kenya Rugby; the penultimate games are being served in large portions. Thick or thin, it can only get juicy.

Kisumu RFC, in what is a repeat of 2016 Nationwide Semifinal, will be facing CUEA with the winner set to qualify for Kenya Cup 2019/20. In 2016 Kisumu, then coached by Arthur Shikwe, had gone undefeated the entire season only to be stopped by CUEA in a tearing encounter.

With Kenya Cup promotion in sight, the former Kenya Cup side has been in the cold too long. The stakes are even higher with word on the street depicting a 250k gift for a Kisumu Win.

League meeting between these two sides ended 3-8 in favour of Catholic Monks on Saturday Jan 19, 2019 in Kisumu.

The Howard Okwemba coached side is in high spirits as they head to the final in the semi.

Kisumu armory is not short of lethal and disastrous weapons. Props Amonde Moses and Jaycox Mavali feature in the star studded Kisumu squad that comprises of power house back rower Billy Arigi and the experienced George Henry ‘Mwalimu’. Bruno ‘Ja-wheels’ Otieno, Beusse ‘Neera’

Nyangina and youngster Lenny Obiero are the other star inclusions in the 24 man squad that will bring down Vatican in the Catholic.
