Kisii stage electric comeback, Bulls bag bonus win

Western Bulls registered their third Championship win of the season as they beat Kitale RFC 24-10 on Sat Dec 1, 2018.

Bulls did also win a bonus as they ran in four tries and two conversion to get five points. Willis Mwinamo, Bryam Mukhonyi were on target for Bulls with Miller Oroto bagging a brace.

Fidel Nyotaa and Mukhonyi booted two points each.

Electric comeback

Kisii RFC staged an electric comeback to win 22-19 the thrilling clash against lakeside based Kisumu RFC at the Gusii Stadium, Kisii County.

Resolution Kisii's Rodgers Gworo was the first to cross few seconds into kick off after a successful scrum in the visitors half. This unconverted try set precedence for the game, as Alvin Marube stretched the lead through an intercept. Aggrey Kitoi adding the extras.

Halfway through the half, Kisumu were twice receipients of penalties courtesy of Kisii's infringements at the breakdown. Lenny Obiero would succeed converting the two and reduce the deficit to 12-6 through to half time.

Kisumu RFC were quick off the blocks in the second half with a try  through William Obara. They would spiritedly attempt to stage a comeback and the effort would ultimately pay off with a successful penalty conversion as they forced Kisii to error, this was followed up with a try off a lineout to have them take the lead to 19-12.

Kisii RFC woul take their purge on attack to am extra mile as they were forced to stage a comeback. Their efforts would start paying off with a successful penalty at the visitors' uprights, Isaac Wafula not missing the target.

Frank Momanyi would ice the winning try for Kisii as they stage an electric comeback few minutes to the final whistle.

"We were patient to the end. They had most of the possession in the second half but we opted to wait and take our chances and that's how we beat them to it"

"In the first half we started slowly, we have them too much of the ball and gifted them with penalties and that we trailed 12-6 at halftime," said Erick Bosire, Kisii Coach.
