Botswana Rugby Union (BRU) has named a 27-man provisional squad for the upcoming Africa 7s Cup set for Monastir, Tunisia from 13-14 October, 2018.
The Vultures, as the team is popularly known, will be coached by Andrew Paxinos and Kabo Batsile had spent the past month preparing for the competition.
Very recently the team took part in the Klerksdorp 7s Rugby Festival tournament in South Africa to shape up for the upcoming assignment.
The Vultures will play the opening game of the tournament against four-time champions and top seeds Kenya who are making a return after skipping the 2017 edition. Next up for Botswana will be a Morocco clash in pool A.
Other than the three the other participants at the tournament include Uganda, Senegal and Ghana in pool B, Zimbabwe, host Tunisia and Mauritius in pool C and Madagascar, Namibia and Zambia in pool D.
The Vultures will hope to improve on last year’s performance where they dropped out at the quarterfinal stage after being knocked out by Uganda who went on to retain their 2016 title.
