Kenya Lionesses ring changes for final World Cup qualifier
Winger Diana Awino and scrum-half Veronica Wanjiku are handed a start for Kenya Lionesses' final 2021 Women's' Rugby World Cup qualifier against South Africa Women Boks on Saturday, August 17, 2019, from 4 pm in South Africa.
Awino and Wanjiku were on the bench in the win over Uganda in the second round of qualifiers and their return sees Christabel Lindo move to the left-wing as Stella Wafula and Irene Atieno drop to the bench.
Sheila Chajira, who started on the blind wing, starts at open-side flank replacing Naomi Amuguni.
Frontrow changes see tight head Imogen Hooper return in place of Evelyne Kalimera(bench) as lock Bernadette Oleisia replaces Immaculate Owino.
Kenya's first match was a 30-5 win over Madagascar followed by a 37-5 win over Uganda. South Africa thumped Uganda 89-5 and Madagascar 73-0.
So all eyes will now be on Saturday's final round with the two unbeaten sides, South Africa and Kenya, ready to face off while Uganda and Madagascar will be searching for their first wins of the campaign in the first fixture of the day.
Defending champions and 2021 hosts New Zealand, England, France, USA, Canada, Australia and Wales have already confirmed their places with a top seven placing at WRWC 2017.
The Rugby Africa Women's Cup 2019 winner will join them, with the runner-up to face the winner of the South American competition next year for a place in the global repechage.
