Half-back Johnstone Olindi scores his first ever try at the HSBC World Sevens Series as Kenya 7s lost 7-35 to Scotland in the opening leg of 2018/19 season, Dubai 7s on Friday Nov 30.

The Scots ran in four tries as well as a penalty try against Kenya’s two tries. The second try for Kenya was scored by Dennis Ombachi.

It was head coach Paul Murunga’s first match in-charge but he will have to seek a first win when he meets France at 11.44am.

After a sloppy start from both sides Scotland took the lead showing nice patience after a line break, recycling the ball wide to Max who finished in the corner with a conversion following.

Scotland doubled their lead with a lovely step and fend from the co-captain who scrambled to the line.

A lovely flick on from Gav Lowe set Glenn free down the wing and he ran it in under the post to conclude the first half.

Max McFarland was tackled high as he dived for the corner and Scotland's lead was extended. Olindi got on board, skipping through a tackle to dot down under the sticks.

Final try from Scotland saw Sam barging his way over the line from a set piece move off a 5m scrum.
