Kenya 7s suffer two defeats in LA, drops to 9th place

Kenya Sevens lost 31-5 to South Africa in the opening match of the 2020 Los Angeles 7s on Saturday Feb 29 in USA.

South Africa ran in five tries to the win to kick-off the fifth leg of 2020 HSBC World Sevens Series with a solid performance against an opponent that is becoming a regular in pool matches these days.

Willy Ambaka got Kenya's sole unconverted try in the defeat as Davids Angelo, JC Pretotious, Werner Kok, Muller du Plessis and Branco Du Preez scoring for the Blitzboks.

Kenya's went on to beat Ireland 29-19 before losing 24-0 to Canada in the last pool game. They'll play Samoa in the 9th place playoff at 7.37pm on Sunday.
