Kenya Cup defending champions KCB reduced gap between them and Kabras from five to four points courtesy of a 53-8 win over struggling Strathmore Leos in Madaraka on Sat Feb 9.
Tony Onyango and Peter Kilonzo scored two tries each with Mike Wanjala, Peter Karia, Nelson Nyandat, Vincent Onyala and Darwin Mukidza crossing over at least one time. Mukidza converted one while Samuel Asati kicked in four points.
KCB now have 40 points while Kabras have 44 as a result of missing a bonus in the win over Kenya Harlequins. The two sides are set to meet in Ruaraka in exactly two weeks in what will be a crucial match as far as finishing position one is concerned.
In between that match stands Impala for KCB and Homeboyz for Kabras Sugar with both teams set to be at home. KCB are second because they lost to Nondies earlier in the season while Kabras are the only unbeaten side.
Captain Curtis Lilako said he "was happy of how we played today. We started off slow but we were able to pick up in the second half and we were able to get the result that we wanted.”
