Kenya Cup champions KCB picked from where they left last season as they beat newbies Menengai Oilers 27-5 in the first round of 2018/19 season on Saturday Nov 17 at RFUEA.

The bankers(5 tries) picked five points for winning with four or more tries as Oilers return to Nakuru without a point.

Oscar Sorano, Isaac Njoroge, Adrian Opondo and Rocky Aguko(2) were on the scoresheet for KCB who started the defence campaign on a high.

KCB head to Nondies on matchday 2 with the latter coming at the back of a 20-14 win over Homeboyz while Oilers are set to host Kenya Harlequin.

Impala Saracens survived a scare as they beat Blak Blad 18-15 to kick-off the new campaign with four points. Davies Makori and Quinto Oongo went over for Impala with Oongo adding the kicks.

Blad however leave Ngong road with a point ahead of their game against Kabras on matchday II at Kenyatta University. Impala head to Nakuru RFC.
