Kenya Cup champions KCB and Homeboyz maintained perfect starts to the Kenya Cup new season beating Top Fry Nakuru and Menengai Oilers respectively in the third round of the 2019/20 campaign on Saturday Nov 9.
KCB beat Top Fry Nakuru 50-13 at home while Homeboyz, who were at Jamhuri Park, saw off Menengai Oilers 25-20 in what was a hotly contested match day 3 clash. Geoffrey Okwach scored a hattrick in the win over Nakuru.
Geoffrey Okwatch, Nick Ongeri, Peter Kilonzo and Davis Chenge went over for KCB in the first half to lead26-8 with Teddy Agutu getting one for Nakuru as Monate Akuei scord a penalty.
Second half saw Levy Amunga convert Kilonzo’s try before Okwatch completed his hattrick. Nakuru managed to sneak one more through Dan Githanga in between KCB’s triy-fest
KCB head to Menengai Oilers on matchday 4 as Homeboyz hosts Western Bulls. Top Fry Nakuru, yet to register a win this season, will host Kenya Harlequin at NAC. Quins are also searching a first win after they were shocked 19-21 by Western Bulls on matchday 3.
