Kenya Cup coaches Curtis Olago of KCB and Paul Murunga of Homeboyz have achieved Level 2 coaching certificates according to Kenya Rugby Union.
Olago coached KCB to back to back Kenya Cup titles while Murunga has guided Homeboyz to two national sevens circuit titles as well as Enterprise cup and other trophies.
Level 2 is designed to provide coaches with the skills needed to coach teenage and adult players in the club or school environment (in major Unions) and to higher levels in less developed Unions.
"It aims to develop coaches who know 'how' to coach as well as 'what' to coach," according to World Rugby.
"Finally I got," said Murunga who did his level 1 in 2008 under the departed Eric Situma.
Murunga will be looking to dethrone Olago of Kenya Cup title in the 2018/19 season that starts in November. He is also one of those said to be eyeing the Kenya 7s job that was left vacant after Innocent Simiyu's contract expired.
Only Kenya U20 coach and World Rugby educator Paul Odera and Kenya Simbas assistant coach Charles Ngovi are Level 3 accredited coaches in Kenya.
