KCB call up Kenya 7s contingent for Oilers duty
By Eric Njiru | Fri 15 Nov, 2019 10:02

Looking to win their fourth match in a row, Kenya Cup defending champions KCB have their Kenya 7s contingent back for the trip to Nakuru to take on Menengai Oilers on Sat Nov 16, 2019.

The Kenya 7s boys missed week 2 and week 3 action as they were in South Africa to seal Tokyo 2020 Olympic qualification.

Flanker Andrew Amonde and winger Jacob Ojee start for KCB with Johnstone Olindi and Vincent Onyala among the replacements.

Amonde replaces Felix Ojoo(bench), Michael Wanjala is promoted from the bench to start ahead of Samuel Asati(bench), Ojee takes over from Geoffrey Okwatch –who moves to the open wing, while Isaac Njoroge moves from the wing to fullback to replace Levy Amunga(ESS).

KCB’s start to the new season has seen wins over Western Bulls, Kenya Harlequin and Top Fry Nakuru. Oilers’ 100% start to the 2019/20 campaign was halted last gameweek when they fell to high-flying Homeboyz.

KCB’s ESS team will be captained by James Ochieng, Essau Otieno is at flyhalf, Levy Amunga and George Maranga make up the midfield while Felix Wanjala, Ken Mosetim Arthur Owira and Tony Onyango make the bench.

Lock Clinton Odhiambo leads Oilers who are chasing their third win in four matches. Theophillus Lusangalu starts at fly-half, Nick Mogire and Derrick Mbaire on the wings while Davis Nyaundi is at fullback.

Chrispine Shitindo, Amos Onyinkwa, Rashdi Shimoka, Hillary Malweyi and Mike Mare will hope to make an impact from the bench.
