Kabras to miss key players, KCB welcome back Lilako

KCB welcome back captain Curtis Lilako for Saturday’s blockbuster against Kabras Sugar at KCB Sports Club, Nairobi from 4pm.

Lilako is available for the 2019/20 Kenya Cup matchday 6 clash after missing the win over Homeboyz to take over from Nelson Nyandat who drops to the bench.

KCB face yet another test from a side that is yet to bag a win against them, despite meeting 10 times since 2014, four of them Kenya Cup finals.

With Kenya 7s players out due to the upcoming Dubai and Cape Town 7s legs, winger Isaac Njoroge replaces Jacob Ojee while Martin Owillah starts in place of Andrew Amonde.

Half-back Ahmed Shaban says they “are adequately prepared for this weekend’s clash, we will leave nothing to chance when we face Kabras on Saturday.”

Kabras Sugar will be without Kenyan international Nick Baraza who sits out with injury. Head Coach Henly Du Plessis says Baraza “tore his ligament and has to go for operation then we can know how long he will be out.”

Dan Sikuta is committed to Kenya 7s who leave on Sunday for Dubai 7s. Skipper Max Adaka is replaced by Edwin Sifuna.

“Max picked up an injury in the last game and didn’t recover in time,” added Du Plessis.

Charlton Mokua starts at blind side as Ntabeni Dukisa and Timoci Senaite make up the midfield pairing.

Du Plessis, who lost two matches against KCB last season including a final, expected “same game as last time, they like to dominate in the forward but we are ready and see what we can do.”
