Kabras Sugar and Impala Saracens bagged crucial wins in the eighth round of the 2021 Kenya Cup beating Blak Blad and Top Fry Nakuru respectively on Saturday, July 10, 2021, in Nairobi.
Kabras saw off Blak Blad 47-8 at RFUEA Grounds while Impala defeated Top Fry Nakuru 25-19 with both matches kicking off at 3 pm.
Kabras moved back to second on 20 points while Impala climbed from 7th to 4th on 12 points. Nakuru dropped to 5th on nine points after picking a losing bonus while Blad stay 8th on eight points.
Impala led 8-7 at the interval courtesy of an unconverted try and Quinto Ongo's penalty with Samuel Mwaura converting Don Aluoch's try for Top Fry Nakuru. The visitors started the second half on a high going 8-14 up as Emmanuel Mboya landed a second five-pointer that was converted by Mwaura.
Impala however held their nerve to make a comeback as Alvin Marube's brilliant kick and chase and Tony Khadambi's brilliance landed 14 points on the board after Quinto's conversion.
At RFUEA Grounds, Kevin Wekesa, Hillary Odhiambo and Timothy Simiyu were among the scorers as Kabras ran riot to win their fourth match in the six played this season.
