Kabras Sugar are readying for the 2017/2018 Kenya Cup season after signing 11 new players.
Charles Cardovillis is set to start the season as the new coach after joining ahead of the national sevens circuit.
Cardovillis managed to bring Bram Mayaka and Andrew Chogo from Homeboyz while Kenya Harlequins trio of Kevin Keegan, Kelly Akengo and Alfred Odawa crossed over. Nakuru RFC quartet of Coleman Were, Victor Shigholi, Kevin Omiyo and Charlton Mokua are part of the new signings.

From Uganda, Kabras signed Asuman Mugerwa while Kisumu RFC star Jaycox Mavala has also been contracted. As the 11 joined the sugar belt side, three others left; Vincent Mwikhali to Championship side Menengai Oilers, Levy Ochieng and Fidel Oloo to Nondies.
“Nondies put in the request, It is unfortunate, I would have liked to have worked with them, but they go with mine and the club’s blessings.”
The new signings come in at a time when all Fijians who were in their ranks in recent years have since left the club including star John Kubu.
“Having Fabian Olando, Brian Sagara and Steve Oluoch back after a year out injured is like a new signing,” said Cardovillis.
Kabras Sugar has contested the last three Kenya Cup finals winning the 2016 edition and coming out second best in 2015 and 2017.
