USIU Martials will have to make do without seminal no.8 Fidel Tobias when they face Mean Machine in the final of the Varsity category of Impala  Floodlit tournament on Saturday.

Fidel, the club announced on their Twitter handle, sustained an ankle sprain during the semi-final showdown with Swaras.

He will be out for four weeks, meaning he should have recovered when the students get their KRU Championship campaign underway with a visit to Mombasa on 17th November.

Ugandan Kasule Fitzgerald, a replacement in the quarters and semis, is expected to fill in at the base of the scrum on Saturday.

"Tobby Othieno will miss the varsity final of Floodies 2018, and has been ruled out for four weeks after he sprained his ankle in the semi final against Swaras last weekend," part of the tweet read.

The loose forward has been an intergral part of USIU campaign at the Floodies: he was responsible for a brace of tries in the 17-12 win over Swaras last Saturday and he was equally influential in the 15-13 victory over Daystar Falcons in the quarters- he was declared the Man of The Match in that close encounter.
