Kenya Sevens speedster Collins Injera has been included in the Kenya Simbas squad for November's rugby world cup repechage in France.
A statement from Kenya Rugby Union(KRU) on Tuesday said "Injera and Impala Saracens lock Simon Muniafu have been included in the squad."
Injera becomes the sixth Kenya 7s players to be included in the Simbas squad. This comes after a successful national sevens circuit where he led Mwamba to second place.
Muniafu, a regular Simba, missed the entire 2018 Africa Gold Cup as he was in France where he plies his trade
Willy Ambaka was the first player to cross from 7s to 15s going ahead to score against Tunisia and Namibia. Dennis Ombachi, Andrew Amonde, Sammy Oliech and Nelson Oyoo were other Kenya 7s players who joined Simbas immediately after the Gold Cup.
Kenya is due to play Canada, Germany and Hong Kong in the round robin repechage tournament that will see the winner qualify for the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
Series of friendly matches are also lined up with Kenya will play Namibia, British Army and Blue Bulls in Nairobi and Romania in Bucharest in preparation for repechage.
Their call to the Simbas is definitely something Kenya 7s head coach will be sweating over as all six of them are key members of Shujaa.
May all be selected for the trip to France, Kenya 7s will have to compete at Dubai 7s without them as the HSBC World Series kicks-off on November 30.
