Mwamba's Collins Injera went level with Kabras Sugar's Philip Wokorach in the top try scorer's list after Saturday's Kenya Cup playoffs.
Injera was on the scoresheet twice as Mwamba bagged a 17-18 win over hosts Top Fry Nakuru at NAC. The two tries take him to 23, same with Wokorach.
The Uganda international has however not been in action since March 30 due to Hong Kong 7s and the fact that Kabras Sugar had already qualified for Kenya Cup semis.
Mwamba is set to travel to Kakamega to face Kabras Sugar in semis with the game likely to have impact on who finishes top between Injera and Wokorach.
Speaking to Raga House before the win over Nakuru, Injera described the 2018/19 season as a good one to him.
"The season for me personally has been a good one. Despite only playing half the league as I missed all the first legs when the league started, it's still a good achievement being among the top scorers.”
"For now we are focusing on one game at a time, as it's knock out rugby, but it would be a great achievement if we shall go all the way to the finals.”
Injera's brother -Humphrey Kayange- ended the 2016/17 as Kenya Cup top scorer with 11 tries in a season Injera scored up to seven tries.
