Impala wins 7s crown, Hidden Talent Academy impress

Home team Impala came out tops after seeing off their Homeboyz counterparts 12-7 to scoop the Impala Women's 7s tournament held at the Impala grounds on Saturday 22 September, 2018.

Judith Auma - eventually picked at the MVP in the tournament - grabbed the first try in the final that Ann Koki topped up with extras for a 7-0 lead.

It was tied 7-7 all at half time as Homeboyz recovered with a try by Shariffa Chiringa an conversion. Christabel Lindo's lone try in the second half delivered the crown for Impala.

For a place in the final Impala hit Mwamba RFC 17-0 as Homeboyz beat Northern Suburbs 29-0. Mwamba atoned for a miss in the final with a 33-5 dispatch over Northern Suburbs in the play-off to take home bronze.

At the end of the contest Bridgit Oludhe of Mwamba was named the best point scorer with 18 as Stella Wafula & Christabel Tata were named as the top try scorers with four touchdowns each. 

Jenipher Lawrence named schools MVP

In the Schools category, Hidden Talent Academy won the five-school competition with 12 points after registering an unbeaten run over Moonlight, Comras, Comras 2 and Maono. They outscored their opponents with 139 points while conceding just five - a try - in their 14-5 win over Comras.

Not only did Hidden Talent Academy emerge tops but the school al also provided the most outstanding players. With six tries Naomi Kaikai emerged as the top try scorer as Jenipher Lawrence emerged as the top point scorer with 35. she was eventually named the schools' MVP.

Comras and Maono emerged second and third with nine and six points, respectively. Comras II finished 4th with three points as Moonlight finished fifth.
