Impala win Ngong rd derby, KCB stop Mwamba

Impala Saracens retained Ngong road derby bragging rights after edging out rivals Kenya Harlequin 27-19 in the 7th round of the 2019/20 Kenya Cup on Saturday Dec 7, 2019 at Impala Club. 

KCB bounced back to winning ways Mwamba 29-17 at Railways Club, Nairobi. 

Impala registered their fifth win of the season while inflicting a 6th defeat to Kenya Harlequin.

George Okowa went over first for Impala after a 40-m line break by winger Billy Omondi with Quinto Oongo adding the extras but Quins hit back through scrum-half Dominic Osino even though Lyle Asiligwa's attempted conversion took too long taking a tad.

Impala would add one more but Quins replied again only for Asiligwa to miss the conversion  even though he sent in a penalty just before the interval that saw Quin lead 12-13.

Omondi was at it again in the second half running 60-m to score in between the posts a converted try. Asiligwa kicked in three more points for Quina but Steve Otieno would score the last try for Impala to win 27-19 after last minute three-pointer from Quins.

At Railways club, KCB led 5-17 at halftime courtesy of tries by Oliver Mangeni and Mike Kimwele converted by Levy Amunga who also added a penalty. Mwamba's only unconverted try in the first half was scored by Mike Agevi.

Kimwele landed his brace in the second half before Mwamba scored 10 points, Brian Kivasia converting Ronnie Omondi's try and a penalty but Amunga converted Rocky Aguko's try to seal the win for KCB.
