Impala Saracens have been beaten by Mean Machine in their opening match at the Driftwood 7s on Saturday September 2, 2017.

Machine won 7-5 with a last minute try scored by Edward Omondi with Kelvin Otieno making the conversion.

Ian Minjire had put Impala with an unconverted try before the championship fought back.

“The start is very well and I am proud of the boys. We had prepared very well for that match. We going to fight against KCB, we are ready for them,” said Mean Machine head coach Ramsey Mategwa.

Impala’s next match is against Mombasa RFC at 1.36pm as Mean Machine takes on KCB.

KCB got things going with a 25-5 win over hosts Mombasa RFC running five unconverted tries. Kenyan internationals Darwin Mukidza and Davies Chenge touched down for the bankers with Ahmed Shaban, Collins Nato and Vincent Onyala also crossing over.
