Resolution Impala Saracens countered a late surge by visiting Nondescripts to secure a 17-12 win in week four of the Kenya Cup 2017/18 action.
The visitors had a better opening few minutes piling pressure on Resolution Impala’s half of the pitch and were recipients of an early penalty whose kick was scuffed. Center referee would revert to a set piece in another attempt by Nondies’ Eric Ombachi break for try.
A heated exchange few minutes to the break would result to both teams reduced to 14 men; Resolution Impala’s Anthony Nyadigisi and Nondies Yassin Musa were red carded for an altercation.
Impala Saracens' Timothy Makiya would break the stalemate for the first try, Vincent Mose scuffing the conversion for a 5-0 lead. Makiya would moments later extend the lead with a try landing his brace for the day, Mose adding the extras for a 12-0 into the break.
Nondies late charge
Nondies attempt to reduce the deficit in the opening minutes of the second half through Brian Amitsa were unfruitful after he was taken to touch. The visitors would land another penalty but Kenya international Biko Adema scuffed the kick. Impala would still lead 12-0.
Billy Omondi would grant Resolution Impala another try to stretch the lead to 17-12 but would be force to play a man less after Robin Kiplagat was binned for an infringement at Nondies’ breakdown. The purge by the visitors backline would earn them a penalty try, settling the scores at 17-7.
Biko Adema would cross the white wash in the final minute of play to reduce the deficit to a 17-12 loss.
