Impala drops to Challenge Trophy as Blad, Mwamba sail through

Kabeberi 7s champions Impala Saracens have dropped to the challenge trophy of the Prinsloo 7s after losing 17-10 to Nondies on Saturday, September 24, 2017 in Nakuru.

Impala went to the game needing to win to sail to Sunday's cup quarters after they had lost 10-14 to Nakuru in their first match. They beat Blad 12-7 in their second match. 

From pool A, Top Fry Nakuru sails to quarters to be joined by Blak Blad who beat Nondies 22-5 in their first match.  Nondies drop to challenge trophy as a result of the point difference. 

Mwamba RFC reached cup quarters for the first time this season as they beat Oilers 12-7, lost 33-22 to Mwamba and beat Western Bulls 19-10. 

Kabeberi 7s runners-up Menengai Oilers had a rough Saturday as they lost 12-7 to Mwamba, drew 15-15 with Western Bulls before routinely beating Quins 12-5.  

Pool C action saw Homeboyz and Strathmore Leos go through as Mombasa RFC and Mean Machine dropped to challenge trophy. Homeboyz saw off Mombasa 38-0, Machine 27-0 and Strathmore 33-5 as Leos beat Machine 22-17 and Mombasa 33-0. Machine beat Mombasa 27-12 which was not enough for them to go through.
