Mwamba RFC have dropped to the Challenge trophy at their own tournament after losing 19-17 to Nondies on Saturday, September 9, 2017.

They had gone down 22-14 to Homeboyz in the opening game.

Chances are very low for them to go through as Nondies and Daystar played to a 12-12 draw in their first game.

Their last game will be against Daystar Falcons as Nondies take on Homeboyz.

Steve Sikuta opened scoring for Mwamba with a converted try but James Odong restored parity for Nondies crossing over between the posts just before the break.

Mwamba, however, regrouped in the second half to land a try through debutant Ronnie Omondi but Matt Wanjia sent his kick wide.

Marvin Sumba would also score for Nondies in between the posts with Peter Lugano adding the conversion for a 14-12 lead but Daniel Taabu restored  Mwamba to a 17-14 lead after Wanjia missed his conversion.

Ugandan international James Odong scored a last minute try to hand Nondies a 19-17 win.
