Homeboyz have won the Driftwood 7s after beating Nakuru RFC 17-7 on Sunday, September 3, 2017 in Mombasa.

Homeboyz ran in tries and one conversion against Nakuru's converted try. As Geoffrey Ominde converted Monate Akwei's try, Leonard Mugasi, Keith Wasike and Charles Omondi scored for Homeboyz with Humphrey Owuor making the conversion.

The Deejayz bag maximum 22 points and will be ranked top in next weekend's Kabeberi 7s while Nakuru have 19 points.

For a place in the final, Nakuru beat Mean Machine 5-0 while Homeboyz saw off Menengai Oilers 10-5.

Nakuru drew first blood through Monate Akwei with Geoffrey Ominde making the conversion. Crispin Onyango had a chance to double the lead but knocked on.

Homeboyz would fight back to land a five-point late in the first half through Charles Omondi who picked Michael Wanjala’s pass. Leonard Mugaisi was however not sure with his kick for the Deejayz to trail 5-7 at the interval.

Leonard Mugaisi opened the second-half with a kick-chase try to bring Homeboyz ahead for the first time but Wanjala's conversion attempt was short.

Keith Wasike's try in between the posts sealed things for Homeboyz.
