Homeboyz suffered their first defeat of the season as they went down 26-6 to Kenya Cup defending champions KCB in the fifth round on Saturday, January 13, 2018.

KCB led 19-6 at the break after Darwin Mukidza had converted Davie Chenge’s try. Mukidza booted four penalties in the first half as KCB came from 3-0 after Homeboyz had taken lead through Mohamed Omolo’s penalty.

Omollo’s second-half penalty for the Deejayz was not enough for a possible comeback as Stafford Abeka crossed over to seal a 26-6 win.

KCB bag four points from the win to stay top.

Kabras remained unbeaten after five rounds as they beat visiting Kenya Harlequins 22-13.

Debutant Alex Olaba was on score sheet alongside captain Patrice Agunda with Lyle Asiligwa adding the penalty for the visitors. Ugandan nationality Asuman Mugerwa, Coleman Were and Hillary Odhiambo crossed over for Kabras.

The win takes Kabras Sugar to second as Homeboyz drops.

It was Quins’ second defeat after having lost to Homeboyz earlier in the season.
