Homeboyz are boosted by the return of one Kenya Simbas international ahead of their crucial matchday 3 Kenya Cup clash with Kenya Harlequin at Jamhuri from 4pm.

The Deejayz host Quins with 17 key players(mostly backs) set to miss the clash as they are in Dubai 7s either on club or national duties.

Prop Patrick Ouko who just returned from the 2019 Rugby World Cup repechage tournament in France is named on the bench by player/coach Polycarp Odhiambo who will be assisted by Edwin Wekesa.

Joshua Chisanga, Mohamed Omolo, Philip Ikambili and Dalmus Chituyi are not ready yet. The entire pack and halfbacks are unchanged from the side that beat Mwamba 22-18.

Mark Ongayo replaces Bush Mwale on the blind wing, Keith Wasike and Jan Remke are in for Max Kang’eri and Israel Soi while Collins Shikoli comes in for Zedden Marrow on the open wing as Evin Asena moves from the ESS squad to fullback.

Quins had an afternoon on matchday two as they lost to promoted side Menengai Oilers. Head Coach Charles Cardovillis made only one change as hooker Frank Kalwale comes in for Edward Oseko.

“He(Oseko) played a lot of minutes and has a slight knock. Also gives me a chance to play other no.2s”

“They(Homeboyz) are a tough side to play. Very solid forwards with exciting backs. They won last weekend and will want to keep up with that run,” said Cardovillis.

Meetings between these two sides have been high scoring with the most recent one, played at Quins last season seeing the Deejayz win 41-39.

On the defeat to Oilers, Cardovillis said they “didn’t take our chances. Three knock-ons in the try box, bad in the office. The boys know what to do, it’s now time to execute.”
