Homeboyz Ladies beat Impala Ladies 20-7 on Friday 17 August to lift the George Mwangi Kabeberi Memorial sevens at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
The latest win adds on the the Prinsloo Cup the side lifted at the beginning of the National Sevens Circuit in Nakuru on 20 July.
In the final Linet Moraa was first on the scoreboard as she landed Homeboyz’s first try with the conversion sailing wide.
The Paul Murunga charges held on to the lead but it was yanked by Impala Ladies at the stroke of half time as Christabel Tata dashed for the try box and landed a center post try with Anne Koki adding the extras.
Second half saw the DJz land three unconverted tries through Sophia Ayieta, Leah Njogu and Eunice Momanyi handing them the 20-7 win.
For a place in the final Homeboyz beat Shamas Ladies 27-7 as Impala Ladies saw off Northern Suburbs 22-7 at the semis.
Homeboyz won all their pool match as they beat Comras and Northern Suburbs 41-5 and 19-0. The two wins saw them book Shamas Rugby in the semis.
Shamas had secured a semifinal slot after beating hosts Mwamba 25-17 and a 12-12 draw with Impala ladies.
The second semifinal was secured by Impala ladies and Northern Suburbs ladies.
Before the draw with Shamas, Impala had blanked out Mwamba 29 – 0 in their first pool match.
Northern Suburbs on the other hand beat Comras 15-5 before going down 19-0 to eventual winners Homeboyz.
The ladies action acted as a perfect precursor for the main division one and two mens' events starting on Saturday.
