Homeboyz named a strong matchday 23 squad to take on Impala Saracens that includes six internationals on the bench for Saturday’s week 11 clash at Impala Club from 2pm, LIVE on Bamba Sports.
Former captain Emmanuel Mavala is joined by Kenya Simbas trio of Patrick Ouko, Joshua Chisanga and the returning Max Kangeri. Kenya 7s duo of Jeff Oluoch and Augustine Lugonzo also make a return.
Homeboyz were disappointed to allow Kabras win 39-24 last weekend as race for playoffs spot hits up.
From the squad that traveled to Kabras, winger Collins Shikoli is out with a long-time injury which sees Leon Adongo set to start against his old club while Israel Soi is replaced by Muhati at midfield.
Speaking to Bamba Sport this week, Homeboyz head coach Simon Odongo said:
“We are on an incline right now we started a bit slow because that time we had players who had gone to Dubai. The incline is positive and evident against Kabras so it’s just to keep building on that.”
“From Kabras we lost Shikoli (ACL tear) and John Daniel who got fracture so those two are out for the season.”
“It’s going to be a very tough match. Impala are a very good opponent on paper and on the field. It’s going to be lively contest and it’s in front of fans as well. They also started slowly this season and they have a lot to prove so it’s going to be a good match.”
Heading to match-day 11, Impala sit seventh with 25 points, just one behind sixth placed Homeboyz.
The two sides lastly met on Sat Dec 9, 2017 with Homeboyz coming out on top 39-21 at Jamhuri Park. Their last meeting at Impala Club, Dec 21, 2017, saw the Deejayz also win 13-41.
