Homebyz bounced back to winning ways beating Impala Saracens 32-22 on matchday 10 of the 2019/20 Kenya Cup regular season at Jamhuri Park on Sat Jan 11.
After losing 18-17 to Mwamba at the close of 2019, the Deejayz had a perfect reply leading 18-8 at the interval before sealing the win in the second half.
Bob Muhati, Alvin Otieno and Stanley Isogol’s first half tries as well as Evin Asena’s penalty were all the Deejayz needed to be in control. Duncan Ekasi went over for Impala with Quinto Ongo adding a penalty goal.
Impala pulled one back through Sammy Oliech with Oongo adding the extras but back to back tries by Bush Mwale and Bob Muhati converted by Asena saw Homeboyz extend the lead.
George Okowa converted Quinto Ongo’s last try to close the game.
Homeboyz stay third with 39 points while Impala Saracens are fourth with 30 points as they missed out on a bonus.
Kabras too good
Kabras Sugar routinely won at NAC beating Top Fry Nakuru 0-38 to pick a ninth win this season and fifth in a row at NAC
After a week of transfer controversy between the two sides, Kabras put the disappointment of possibly missing out on a potential signing to sore six tries.
Fijian Jone Kubu had a brace with former Nakuru backrow Lawrence Buyachi, Kenya U20 scrum-half Barry Robinson, Eugene Sifuna and Brian Tanga going over.
Kabras stay top with 45 points while Nakuru drop to sixth on 25 points as a result of Oilers’ win over Mwamba.
Nakuru can bounce back to winning ways when they head to Mwamba on matchday 11 while Kabras will look to extend their winning run back at home against struggling Kenya Harlequin.
