Kenya Simbas assistant coach Dominique Habimana has described Senegal as no pushovers ahead of Saturday’s meet in the Africa Gold Cup at RFUEA grounds.
Habimana and head coach Jerome Paarwater named the squad on Thursday in Nairobi with Simon Muniafu returning to replace George Nyambua.
“Senegal are no pushovers, they stay in the game to the end so we can’t underestimate them and they want to play. They are looking for scores so we have to stay concentrated throughout the game and execute on the plan we are putting in place.”
“The side named is a very good one, a mixture of experience and eagerness; youthful energy and we are happy with them they are coming along very well,” added Habimana.
Kenya goes to the match with one win in two matches while Senegal is winless after falling to Namibia, Zimbabwe and Uganda.
“We dropped two points unnecessarily so we are trying to catch up with that,” added Habimana.
Kenya’s next match after Senegal’s encounter will be against Namibia and Zimbabwe away in the next two weeks.
“We need to keep improving every week and stay concentrated on each particular game without looking too far ahead just the task ahead but we plan for the future,” concluded Habimana.
The game against Senegal starts at 2pm.
