Former Kenya 7s winger perishes in accident

Former Kenya 7s and Kenya Harlequin flyer Allan Makaka is no more.

Makaka, who worked at the Royal Media Services, passed away on impact the night of Friday 22 May 2020 on Mombasa Road after a car he was driving is said to have rammed into a truck.

Makaka, arguably one of Kenya's fastest wingers, scored 142 tries on the World Sevens Series trail in his hey days.

He featured for Kenya in the 2002 and 2006 Commonwealth 7s games in Manchester and Melbourne - Australia, respectively, as well as in the 2006 Rugby 7s World Cup in Hong Kong.

In 2005 he was in the ranks of UK club Rugby Lions.
