Ahmed Shaban will line up on the right wing when KCB start their Impala Floodlit tournament title defense with a quarter final duel against Mwamba on Saturday at the Impala Grounds starting 17:50pm.
The diminutive back will be part of a back-three that also includes Isaac Njoroge and fullback Elphas Otieno. In mid field, Ken Moseti will start at inside centre with Brian Omondi, who mainly featured at no.12 last season, moving to outside centre.
Up front, Oscar Simiyu and Nelson Nyandat will bookend the loosehead and tighthead sides of the scrum, while Mannasseh Odour and Francis Muita pair in the second row in the absence of last season's favored duo of Nick Ongeri and Oliver Mangeni.
Despite the absence of the seasoned trio of Davis Chenge, Peter Waitere and Martin Owilla, the coach has named an equally experienced back-row which has Rocky Aguko at eight, flanked by Brian Nyikuli and Felix Ojow.
KCB head to the tie fresh from a ten day preseason in Cape Town, South Africa and are expected to put their new found practices into good effect just like last year that saw them reclaim the Floodies title for the first time since 2015.
