Menengai Oilers have successfully defended the Impala Floodies Universities title after beating Catholic Monks 25-20 on Saturday, November 18, 2017, at Impala Club.

Oilers ran three tries, two penalties and two conversions against Catholic’s two converted tries and two penalties.

Dan Abounji converted his try and Antony Apiyi touch-down in the first half as well as adding a penalty for a 22-13 lead at the break.

Catholic’s 13 points were scored by fly-half Foster Arens through two penalties and one conversion. Boniface Amimo crossed over the sole try in the first half.

Arens converted Felix Kegode’s try in the second half but that was not enough for a possible comeback as Abounji sent in a penalty for Oilers.

Both teams are competing in the Championship that will start next weekend. Monks entertain Mean Machine as Oilers visit the University of Eldoret.
