Kisumu RFC has the right ingredients to hit the 2020 Kenya Cup, so says the club's immediate former assistant coach Daniel Okwe.

Okwe, a former KCB front rower and Webuye RFC coach, was an assistant to Howard Okwemba for four months till towards the close of January 2019.

In his opinion, Kisumu, now sitting fourth in the 12-team second tier league, the Championship, has the right structure and a sound bench to lead them out of the second tier Championship to the Kenya Cup.

"I know they are good, I know they can go far, I know they can get there. I strongly beieve they can go to Kenya Cup bound," he said to Raga House

"As much as I am no longer part of the technical bench I know the lot of players they have and they are in very good hands. Howard Okwemba (Coach) is my senior in my senior Howard and is someone who says they wil get there. Muchiri is an excellent S & C coach, why shouldn't they get there?" he added

No longer a part of Kisumu, the Kisumu-based Okwe is now looking for the next coaching opportunities be it in the Nationwide, Championship or the Kenya Cup.

"I looking for where to ply my trade." said the St. Mary's Yala alumni

As he presents his resume for future assignments, his former side Kisumu - sitting behind Catholic University, Western Bulls and USIU on the log - is shaping up for their next assignment away in Ukunda to South Coast Pirates on Saturday 16 February.
