Championship side Egerton Wasps has landed a sponsorship deal from Nakuru based Menengai Oil Refinery Company.
Wasps donned shirts bearing 'Menengai Cream' on the front-side at Christie 7s marking the beginning of their partnership with Menengai. Club's director of communication Joselyne Arusei confirmed the new partnership to Raga House.
Menengai's Simpson Osiemo said they "are supporting them because they are a home side. It's just to help them, we have just started and we will do this for the coming season which started with Sevens but we are still in negotiations to see how we can help them more."
Egerton becomes third rugby team in Kenya to be sponsored by Menengai after former Kenya Cup champions Top Fry Nakuru and Nairobi based Menengai Cream Homeboyz.
Arusei also confirmed Njoro based Newpoint Hospital are on board as medical and water sponsors for the coming season. Their name will appear on the back of the shirt.
Egerton recently won the division II of the national sevens circuit and focus now turns to the new Varsity League that features eight top University and College sides from Kenya.
The Wasps are also looking forward to the 2018/19 KRU Championship that kicks-off in November.
