A transfer showdown is expected this weekend after Kenya Harlequin named Mark Wandeto on matchday 23 to face Kisumu RFC in the 10th round of 2019/20 Kenya Cup season.
Quins unveiled Wandeto this week as one of their five mid-season signings but Homeboyz insist he remains their player.
Kenya Rugby Union this week published a 43-man list of all players who moved to new clubs but Wandeto’s name was missing.
“If they have named him to start against Kisumu we will definitely appeal. Wandeto is our player as far as we know,” said an official from Homeboyz Rugby.
Wandeto is named to start on the right wing with Dennis Otieno on the blind side as Mike Ochieng starts at fullback.
Centre David Ambunya captains Quins pairing Michael Habashi as Lyle Asiligwa and Dominic make up the halfback pairing.
Wilson Kopondo makes the bench alongside Edward Shitanda who rejoined Quins from Homeboyz.
Quins are 10th with 12 points, seven above Kisumu RFC who head t matchday 10 sitting bottom.
