Christie 7s: Injera returns after two years
By Eric Njiru | Fri 13 Oct, 2017 11:26

World Sevens Series all-time second top try scorer Collins Injera will feature for his side, Mwamba RFC, in the shorter version of the game for the first time since 2015 on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at Christie 7s.

Injera is named in the match day 13 that will do duty at Christie 7s after missing the last four legs. He missed out in 2016 as he was in Rio for the Olympics with the Kenya 7s.

His return is also good news to Kenya 7s as he will be fully-fit for the 2017/2018 HSBC World Sevens Series opener, Dubai 7s, after missing the better part of last season that saw England’s Dan Norton overtake him as the all-time top try scorer.

Louis Kisia is in line to make a season debut while Michael Agevi has recovered from a shoulder injury suffered in Mombasa in August to join Humphrey Kayange, George Ochieng and Stephen Sikuta on the weekend’s hunt.

Sepetuka 7s’ top try scorer Alex Aturo, Matt Wanjia, Greg Odhiambo and Freddie Nyachio complete the coach’s roster for the weekend.

Mwamba are in pool C with Homeboyz (10.50am), Nondies (1.30pm) and Daystar Falcons (3.30pm).
