University of Eldoret (UoE) Trojans retained their second tier status after seeing off nationwide side Swara 26-16 in a championship playoff on Saturday 19 May in Eldoret.

UoE had been placed tenth at the close of the second tier league, hence ending up in the playoff against a Swara side that missed out on automatic promotion after going down 12-8 to Kitale RFC in the Nationwide semis.

As UoE celebrate their retained state in the championship, Ngong are uncertain after their game against Eldoret RFC at Kibiko Secondary School in Ngong failed to kick off due to what was termed 'unplayable' surface after a heavy downpour on Friday evening.

The case will be tabled at a leagues committee sitting on Monday 21 May for a direction.

Ngong ended the season at ninth spot to book Eldoret who, like Swaras, fell at the nationwide semis stage after going down 30-5 to MMUST.
