Championship: Bulls go top, Monks beaten by Kisii

Western Bulls beat visiting USIU 13-6 to climb to the helm of the KRU Championship with 41 points after matchday 12 on Saturday Feb 23, 2019 at the Bull Ring.

Talisman Derrick Ashiundu continued his scoring form as he game Bulls' final try and pick four points as USIU parted with one for losing with seven or less points. 

Bulls had taken an early 3-0 lead through a drop goal before skipper Treasure Odundo went over for a 8-0 lead. USIU saw a three-pointer go in for before doing so again in the second half. 

USIU stay third with 35 points.

Catholic Monks, who went to match day nine leading the log with 38 points, dropped to second after losing 15-9 to Kisii RFC. They picked a point which takes them to 39. 

Aggrey Kitoi kicked in three penalties for Kisii in the first half with Newton Wasike sending in two for Monks. Kichoi would however score two more in the second half to win the game for Kisii. Fly-half James Mbugua scored a drop-goal for Catholic in the last half.
