Kenya Cup Champions KCB beat resilient newcomers Resolution Kisii RFC 33-6 to record their second straight five bonus points win in tough encounter staged at Gusii Stadium on Saturday December 1, 2017.
KCB ran in five tries and four conversations against Kisii's two penalties. Francis Mwita was the match hero after scoring two tries with Peter Kilonzo, Rocky Aguko and Arthur Owira also on the score sheet, while Esau Otieno was good too with the first three conversation, missed to cue in after the fourth try but recovered to score convert after the fifth for the maximum points. Brian Kevince booted in two penalties for Kisii RFC.
Francis Mwita put the visitors ahead with Esau Otieno coming good with the conversation for 7-0 early lead before Brian Kevince reduced the deficit for the home side through a penalty. Peter Kilonzo raced to score KCB's second try with Esau converting again to see the bankers go to the break leading 14-3.
After the break, Kisii backed by an excited home crowd pushed hard, taking KCB head on and their efforts saw Kevince score his second penalty to narrow matters to 14-6. KCB would thereafter take charge of the proceedings, Rocky Aguko crossing over the whitewash to land KCB's third, Esau once again on the mark to stretch their lead to 21-6.
Francis Mwita would grab his brace and KCB's fourth and bonus point try, Esau missing this one with the conversation. Arthur Owira wrapped up matters with a fifth try as Esau converted for a 33-6 full time score.
