Central nationwide: MKU Thika, Embu finish top

MKU Thika are on top of the Central nationwide league after the final round with 41 points courtesy of a walkover from Karatina.

MKU coach Peter Mutai, however, told Raga House they still have a game in hand against Embu that is set to be decided by the Union.  This will be a decider on who finishes one and two.

Chuka Vikings were other winners of the day beating Murang’a 34-6 to stay fifth with 26 points and miss playoffs. However, Chuka has launched a complaint with KRU’s fixture’s department for what they call unregistered points. They argue they have 39 points after Saturday’s win but only 26 are reflecting on the table.

Nanyuki Jackals were handed a walkover by Dedan Kimathi as Embu RFC consolidated their second place with a 23-3 win over Meru RFC.

Benson Mwenda had two drop goals with Biwott, Edwin Gitau and Agusto crossing over.

As it stands, MKU Thika(41), Embu RFC(39), Meru RFC(30) and Kiambu RFC(30) occupy positions one to four with an assurance of a semifinal slot but this is until Chuka’s case is solved.
