Kabras Sugar head coach Charles Cardovillis says his side did well during the 29-24 defeat to KCB at the Kenya Cup final.

Cardovillis led Kabras to a Kenya Cup final during his first time and says he can’t fault the Sugar men.

“Very tough final as we anticipated, kudos to my boys they really put their bodies in the line just unfortunate moments in the game. There were moments in the first half, moments in the second half that just didn’t just come through but I can’t fault them for not trying, they did very well they left everything here.”

Kabras ran in three tries and three penalties against KCB’s four tries, one penalty and three conversions.

“We must also vgive credit to KCB, deserved winners, they held on they were very resolute in their defence towards the end,” added Cardovillis, a former director of rugby at Kenya Harlequins.

It was the second defeat in a row for Kabras in the hands of KCB after going down in 2017 on the same pitch and focus now turns to Enterprise cup quarters where they await the winner of Blak Blad-Mombasa RFC.

“For my boys it’s back to the drawing board just to find tune and look how we can go one  better next year.”
