Western Bulls head coach Howard Okwemba says his boys are ready for the KRU Championship semifinal against Mean Machine on Saturday April 28, 2018 at UoN grounds.
The clash comes less than 10 days after Bulls beat Machine 8-6 to finish third in the Championship as Machine sealed a second place and a home semifinal.
Speaking to Bulls TV on Thursday, Okwemba says all is on their side to scoop the students for a place in the final - and immediate bounce-back to the Kenya Cup.
"History favours us against Mean Machine in the 15-a-side campaign, but this one will be a different ball game. It’s knockout; and both teams stand an equal chance.”
The winner of the clash will not only qualify for the Kenya Cup, the top tier league, but also sail through to the final of the Championship to face the winner of Menengai Oilers-Kisumu RFC clash to be played on the same day.
"We will not panic though, and nor will we be complacent. The boys have trained and are ready for the task; we will take the ball to them,” adds Okwemba.
Both Bulls and Machine were sent a rank lower to the Championship at the close of last season after being relegated from the Kenya Cup.
