Bulls coach: Bar is too high ahead of Christie 7s

Western Bulls head coach Howard Okwemba says the bar has been set high ahead of the fifth leg of the National Sevens Circuit, Christie 7s on Saturday, October 14, 2017.

Bulls are in pool C with Homeboyz, Mwamba and Nondies after an impressive performance at Sepetuka 7s that saw them finish sixth.

“Christies is a different ball game altogether, the bar has been set higher from the previous tournament, but we are sticking to the team’s systems. If the boys rise up to the occasion like before, we have a game,” said Okwemba.

Bulls are currently 13th with 20 points in the standings and go to Christie excited and full of confidence from Sepetuka 7s where they only lost to Kabras, Impala and KCB.

“I am quite impressed by the boys’ improved performance at Sepetuka. They set the bar higher and increased the tempo from Prinsloo. Now it’s upon the team to keep it up and yes they are able to do it,” Okwemba’s statement after Sepetuka 7s.

Skipper Teddy Akala is optimistic for a good performance at Christies saying ‘we are training hard as a team and hoping for the best as we head into Christie's.”

Bulls play Nondies at 11.10am on Saturday before taking on Mwamba at 1.50pm and Homeboyz at 4.50pm.
