Blak Blad side to Driftwood 7s named

Blak Blad name up to 12 players to travel to Mombasa for the national sevens circuit opener, Driftwood 7s on Saturday September 2, 2017.

Wesley Kidinga maintains the skipper role with assistance from the player of the year Levy Amunga who will also assume the fly-half role after the departure of Andrew Gathua.

Blak Blad maintains the squad that played in 2016 in the likes of Moses Begi, Stormy Odhiambo, Steve Biko, Franz Obudo, Mark Ongayo, Ivan Chebo and Steven Odhiambo.

Dennis Mutethia is in line for a full sevens debut as Blak Blad prepare to take on Homeboyz, Western Bulls and Top Fry Nakuru. Their opening game will be against Homeboyz at 10am on Saturday.

Blak Blad had their best performance in 2016. They beat Impala, who went into the tourney after winning Kabeberi 7s, 14-10 before seeing off Nakuru RFC 12-7 and Makueni RFC 19-5 in pool matches.

Andrew Gathua made the Driftwood 7s dream team although he has since moved to Kabras Sugar.
