Blak Blad down Impala as KCB defeat Quins

Impala Saracens became the latest causality of the Blad bin after losing 20-17 to hosts Blak Blad on matchday 13 of the 2019/20 Kenya Cup on Sat Feb 1.

The win lifts Blak Blad to ninth on 18 points as Quins drop to 10th on 17.

Impala led 06-12 at the interval after George Okowa and Alvin Marube's tries, one converted by Sammy Oliech with Blad's penalties coming from Kelvin Gathu.Blak 

Blad however won the second half scoring two converted tries through Brian Kadenge and Brian Wahinya as Samson Onsomu scored Impala's sole try in the second half.

Blad coach Motto Williams said: "As technical bench we did our homework well, the boys were up to the task as well. The boys wanted it more than our visitors. Our matches especially at home have always been close ones against Impala. Maturity won it for us today,proper decision making and greater risk we took,the greater rewards we got."

"Our forwards were on point pushing the scrums and winning a couple of opponents as well." 

Still at Thika Road, reigning champions KCB beat visiting Kenya Harlequin 29-3 to pick their 12th win of the season having played 13 matches.

KCB led 17-0 at the interval after tries by Griffin Musila(2) and Peter Kilonzo with Levy Amunga adding the extras.

A penalty try in the second half and Michael Kimwele’s try were the only highlight as Quins scored from the tee.
