Impala Saracens are out of contention for the overall series after going down 12-10 to Blak Blad in the Dala 7s Cup quarters.

Blad took the lead with a try by Begi which was converted by Waihenya. Samson Onsomu and Leon Adongo scored one each to give the Sarries a 12-7 lead at the break.

Blad scored one try in the second half to seal the Sarries fate. The students will now face Menengai Homeboyz in the semis.

Going to the series, Impala trailed leaders Kabras with five points at 80 and needed to finish above the Christie 7s champions to take the overall circuit.

By dropping to fifth place semis, the most points Impala can earn are 13 to finish with 93 while Kabras are assured of at least 15 points by reaching semis.

Homeboyz are still in contention after making it to semis with a 15-5 win over Makueni RFC.
