Blak Blad head to Kisumu RFC aware of a possible threat posed by the hosts on matchday 15 of the 2019/20 Kenya Cup, penultimate round.

Kisumu need maximum wins in their remaining two matches and one game in hand, against Nondies, for them to stand any chance of surviving relegation.

Blak Blad coach Motto Williams named matchday 23 to play Kisumu RFC with centre Ian Obukwa named the captain. Lionel Ajeliti starts at fly-half, Brian Wahinya at scrum-half and lock Steve Ochieng as Field day captain.

“Teams are always tough especially when they are at home. Kisumu has been a surprising team, defeating Nondies at home and last week they put up a spirited fight against Mwamba getting the bonus from the match,” said Williams.

“We are aware that they will come hard at us especially that they are in the red zone and they still have a mathematical chance of survival now that they have a game at hand against Nondies.”

“They(Kisumu) are fully aware that should they lose this fixture ,they will be tactical out of the Kenya Cup League. It will be one of the hardest matches my boys will play."

“My boys are fully prepared and there are some tactical changes we've made to the squad, we are going into this game having no pressure at all, and the 80 minutes will really matter. The boys are going to play all out. Traveling to those sides I'd always tedious but I believe fatigue will not take toil on my boys.”

As Blak Blad sit eighth on 23 points, Kisumu occupy the last position on six points. Last meeting between these two ended 31-3 to Blak Blad at Kenyatta University.
