An arrest warrant issued against rugby player Alex Olaba has been lifted on Wednesday morning by Senior principal magistrate Kennedy Cheruiyot at the Milimani Law Court.

The warrant has been lifted after Olaba told the court he was sick on Friday July 12, 2019; the day Magistrate Martha Mutuku was to deliver judgement on a rape case involving Olaba and his Kenya Harlequin mate Frank Wanyama.

Magistrate Martha Mutuku will now deliver the judgement on August 5, 2019 at Milimani in Nairobi.

Magistrate Mutuku was to give the judgement on Friday afternoon but the second accused (Alex Olaba) was not in court.

Olaba missed the initial Judgement date, Thursday July 11, leading to all parties agreeing to have the judgement read on Friday July 12 only for the Kenyan international to miss out again.

Magistrate Martha Mutuku issued an arrest warrant against Olaba but now this has been lifted.

Frank Wanyama and Olaba, both who play for Kenya Harlequin, are accused of raping a woman at Highrise estate, Nairobi in February 2018.

Due to the case, Wanyama and Olaba have not been able to represent the Country at any level in the said period due to the nature of the case as Raga House understands.
