Kenya Sevens captain Andrew Amonde was on the scoresheet as KCB beat MKU Thika 22-5 in their opening match at Prinsloo 7s on Saturday, September 24, 2017, in Nakuru.
Amonde says he is delighted to return with a win as he seeks to help the bankers to a first cup win for the first time in two years.
“It’s a positive start for us; we were really focusing on getting it right from the first game, I think for us now is to build it and raise the temple and we will be contenders for this tournament.”
“It was a fair game because if you look at the quality of the players that we are playing it was less and it’s something that we can’t take as a challenge,” said Amonde.
KCB returns to action at 2.30pm against Catholic University before concluding the day against Kabras Sugar at 5.10pm.
“The main focus is to play hard and be able to get the three wins,” added Amonde.
